We were inspected in June 2008 and received an excellent report. Here
are a few quotes from the report:"The teachers...are skilled at planning to take account of the
differing needs and abilities of the pupils of mixed ages in each
class.
The number of pupils is small and the teachers know the
pupils well, so they are able to give them precisely targeted
support."
As one pupil put it, “People welcome you here and make you feel
special. That gives you the courage to try things.”
"The outstanding relationships between staff and pupils contribute
significantly to the sense of belonging which pupils experience."

We follow and expand on the National Curriculum and the Common
Entrance Curriculum with an emphasis on Numeracy and Literacy skills.
Children are taught all other National Curriculum topics as well as
French from Year 1.The children benefit from the resources held
within the Field Study Centre as well as the wealth of natural
resources in the grounds. This can mean that the children are able to
go pond dipping as part of their science lesson, or perhaps enjoy a
session of cooking in the Tudor kitchen as part of their history. This
provides a unique opportunity which most children are only able to
enjoy when they are away on field trips.
Regular special event weeks, such as Science Week and Explorers
Week, enhance curriculum learning. The whole school participates in
these weeks and they provide an ideal opportunity for the children to
benefit from integration with children of other year groups.
